Procrastination on those things you
need to get done maybe the perfect
answer to keep you from going out
tonight.

What kind of work do you need to
do? Yard work? Around the house
work?

After you do get this work done,
you maybe tired, exhausted and
sleep would be healthier than drinking.

I dont set myself up for anything
I know i may not follow thru with.
And then I dont need to go back
and apologize or make amends
if i cant do them.

I hope you had a nice walk.

Good idea...the walk that is. I would happily accept a few hours of boredom over the awful existence that was my drinking career. There are countless things one can do instead of taking a drink. Get creative and have fun.

Keep us posted. Thanks again for sharing.

Since you never said "called" I'm guessing you have not talked with him yet. Hopefully when you get back from your walk you'll feel refreshed and you'll rethink about that call. Do you really want to pour poison down your throat just so you can talk with an old friend? There are many, many, many different and healthier ways of catching up with a friend rather than drinking alcohol and acting foolish.

Well, since you posted here I suppose you are undecided- and were hoping for some reassurance- I just plain wouldnt do it, but of course its not up to me. Find an AA meeting or something.

Thank You

I needed that, I went for a walk and sat by the lake. I had such a strong will in October and now cannot find that same strength. i think that it was becouse I had been drunk for literally months. I also feel that I am very very depressed at the moment. Just trying to figure it all out.

Good job Ed! I feel the same way but am going to go do something else to take my mind off of it. Day 8 for me. You can do it!
