Hello
Hello. I have been sober for over 3 years now. I actually came here because I have recently left an alcoholic man I was engaged to. I feel like it is an emotional roller coaster and I am looking for others who have gone through this. I really need to let go of this man fully.
Thank you.
Colleen
Thank you.

My two cents: Marriage is hard. Really hard. It is hard enough to make things work even when one into it with a non-alcoholic. Maybe you have friends that say; "if you love him that much, then confront him, and help him work it out". Or something similar. I bet it is hard enough for an already married person to successfully help their spouse! My wife does not even know I need help!!! I can't personally see putting that kind of work into changing someone your not yet even married to.
Even if he agrees to get help, I think one needs to change or not change, in the absence of what one thinks their girl-friend/boy-friend wants them to do.
I hope you do well no matter what you choose.
