Being Alone
Is it strange or different to think you cant be alone (or should not be) in the first several months of recovery. Alone meaning spending days and nights by myself other than meetings? I feel like a two year old that doent know how to walk. This recovery is the strangest, most difficult thing I have ever tried to conquer in my life
I know what you mean about feeling vulnerable in early recovery.
I was always uncomfortable being alone, all my life...it was worse when I got sober - I spent a lot of time here.
I found when I got sober though I really worked on my life & myself.... I think I grew to trust myself and my instincts a lot more. I got comfortable in my own company.
I don't mind being alone now
I hope that will be the same for you Ryan - but until then SR is here 24/7

I personally love being alone, it gives me freedom to do whatever I want. When I first put the bottle down, I had a lot of optimism about quitting. I posted on SR the next morning and now I have the support system that I am so very thankful to have.
