Howdy
No alcohol for 11 days now. Long story short was arrested for dui 11 days ago and not my first offence. Decided now is the time to quit drinking altogether before I make even more of a mess of my life. It's going to be tough because most of my social life has in some way revolved around drinking and hanging out with drinkers for the last 15 years or so. I'm going to have to give up many of my social outlets and find new ones to be successfull. I'm currently seeking out support groups to help me stay sober and not revert back to my former self destructive ways. Thats what brings me here.

Welcome to the SR family (((CRAZE))) - congrats on your 11 days! SR has been a huge part of my recovery and it's pretty cool to know I'm not alone in learning how to live life without drinking/using.

CRAZE,
I also got a DUI that saved my life. Number 2. I even told the cop "Thank You" when I got arrested. And meant it. I sat in jail for 68 days instead of probation and that brought me closer to the Big Book.

Hi Craze, and welcome to the forum! Glad you've decided to get sober. It does take some time to get used to, but I found out there is a whole world out there that doesn't revolve around alcohol.

Thanks for the well wishes. The next few weeks months and possibly years are going to be tough between staing off the booze and dealing with the consequences of my drinking. I'm just taking things day by day and hoping to come out of this a better person.
