Me: I drove through a neighborhood that had garbage day today and I thought... "No recycling bin embarrassment for me anymore!"

Ha, I know exactly what you mean. My trash absolutely clinked, and I had mucho plastic tonic bottles that were a bit embarrasing.

Little things like this are well worth noting.

I'm grateful to be free of that exhausting cycle of alcoholism.
Life is by no means perfect, but I like the guy in the mirror now.

I read SSIL75's and laughed...I thought I was the only one that had that dilemma! lol Ya gotta crush the cans, put them in first and then cover them up with your "normal" garbage so no one thinks anything. I used to get SO stressed over this! Especially when I forgot to take out recycling from the week before and didn't have room so I'd have to put the cans in my regular garbage and freaked out for the next month from guilt because I didn't recycle them....oh boy, what a loon. lol

I don't have to say "I'm sorry" to anyone so far.

Actually being able to attend the conference I'm at and pay attention even though my withdrawal symptoms are leaving me with that impending doom feeling.

I can walk my dogs any time I want to! I'm never too drunk or sick to walk them, and the exercise, sunshine, and fresh air do us all a world of good.

Listening to my dad reminisce about his navy days in the 60's (though much of it revolved about shore leave and being drunken sailors!)

That I won't have to worry again about someone asking me "remember that time when... " and I really have no clue.

I enjoyed sitting down and reading a couple of books to my baby earlier today. Now I'm enjoying cooking chicken and dumplings to surprise my husband with when he gets home from work. It is incredible how much more time and energy I have when I'm sober!
