What little thing about sobriety are you enjoying today?

I'm enjoying reading this thread, seeing this long list of blessings, and being reminded of how lucky I am.
Calling it "recovery" doesn't do it justice. It implies you're simply reclaiming what was lost to addiction. But prior to addiction, did you ever wake up grateful just to feel normal? Did you ever get a smile on your face thinking about the recycling bin?
Sometimes I feel sorry for my normal drinker friends. They have no idea what they're missing.
Thanks for the thread, SSIL!

Ah, the recycling bin! I too used to hide empty bourbon bottles under the regular recyclables so that my wife wouldn't see how much I had been drinking the past week.
I'm only on Day 4, but what I will enjoy today is not having to go by the liquor store to stock up on alcohol for the weekend (usually preceeded by a visit to the ATM!) and then sneaking the goods into the house. Only four days, but I'm embarrassed as I reflect on the amount of deception I relied on to continue drinking.

I enjoy not having a hangover in the morning. Not having to go to the liquor store for a fresh supply of booze every few days. Not feeling embarrassed about answering the phone in the afternoon.
I enjoy my sober life !

I am enjoying NOT freaking out when I was told the car needs $700 of work.
Not letting fear run my life these days, instead doing what a hopeful person does, and dealing with things as they come.
