2 weeks sober and feeling good!

Hey all - back to update in the hopes that my experiences so far will help someone else.

- I've been going to aa meetings everyday (well I've missed like 2 - but you get the idea)
- I've thrown myself into my work.
- I've made time to play with my kids as opposed to hanging out with a 12 pack and espn.
- Everyday I try to accomplish one of the things I was going to 'do tomorrow'. No matter how minor the task - if I go for it I stay busy and feel accomplished.

I still have alcohol cravings - ironically especially after I accomplish one of the tasks I performed to keep busy and not think about alcohol. But I'm learning to live my life sober and it's still early in my recovery.

Thanks for everybody out there posting their own experiences - this website is a true inspiration and a comfort when I'm feeling alone.

thanks for posting tellme1 and great job - I hit 2 weeks tomorrow. Good days and bad days.

Like the idea of a to do list.

Thank you for sharing. I too am trying to slowly bring structure into my life. I am so good at putting everything off until tomorrow. I realized yesterday that this is how my life has become unmanageable. Everything has piled up to the point of being so over-whelming and all I ever wanted to do was go drink and forget about it. So now I try to face it and tackle small things every day at a time. It feels empowering even though I have a long way to go. I am on Day 9 of not drinking after quite a few slip-ups. I'm getting back into AA and hope that it will help me like it has you. Good job and thanks again for posting.
