Day 21
Well this is officially 3 weeks of sobriety. Never thought I'd get this far but I have. I'm a very bullheaded, stubborn person though, especially when it came to drinking but I'm even more determined now to stay sober. A few observations...
Sleeping much better, more so than in the last 15 years.
Still in a bit of a fog but my eyes focus much better than they did in the first two weeks, still a bit bloodshot though.
Appetite is almost out of control (quite the opposite of almost never eating!)
Short term memory is getting better, bit by bit.
Still getting headaches in the evening but not migraines.
Still getting the urge to drink but not overwhelmingly so, very controllable at this point.
Able to have coherent conversations again not aided by alcohol or drugs.
Much more energy... won't be running a marathon any time soon but I'm not laying on the couch all day long either!
The anxiety is almost non-existent or when I do get it, it's fleeting at best.
Feel almost optimistic for the future despite having lost my job.
There's a few more things that I can't think of at the moment but just wanted to relay that data along to the group... really couldn't have gotten this far without SR and all the brilliant people here so thanks so very much for helping me start getting my life back! And good luck to everyone in taking advantage of your new opportunities, I know you can do it!

Pikkle! Congrats! Me too -- this is 3 weeks for me also.
I have not been free of alcohol for this long in YEARS, and the effects have been wonderful. Best one is I am sleeping through the night (instead of waking up at 3, then rummaging through the house looking for any alcohol there might be).
Anyway, HIGH FIVE to us!

Thanks all! I have no illusions that it will be easy going forward but the changes I've felt so far have been might encouraging. I know I could not do it without all of you and I know together we can all be successful!

All, thanks much for the support and encouragement. I think in all of us there is the strength to do the right thing... collectively, we have the power to not fail! Congrats to everyone who is healing right now, absolutely the toughest thing I have ever done and I imagine the same for you all. Let's just keep it going, we rule!!!
