Day one!
Good for you! I am pleased to hear you are making a conscience decision to try to sober up. Today is day 2 for me but I am happy with my decision and I know it is going to be an uphill fight for a while.
Hang in there. We can do it!!

Go Goldi Go! Keep that sick feeling fresh in your mind (like an 'ex' that treated you like dirt), in the future the sight and smell of alcohol will just make your stomach turn. Sept. 22nd was my day, not planned, just completely ready for the change. I want nothing to do with it now, after years of sickness, but I do struggle in filling the time drink use to take from me.
Welcome goldiilocks!
Congratulations on making a decision to get sober - It really does get better, even though the first days aren't fun. If you start feeling really bad, though, don't hesitate to talk to a doctor.
I remember my day 1 vividly - I spent most it here, and it made all the difference.

Thanks everyone for your kind words of welcome and support. Today is day two. I went to sleep last night around 10 (which is so unlike me) and slept like a BABY. So much so that I woke up late for work. It seemed like anything bad or negative or problematic that could get in my way today, did. I'm not crying or anything, it could have been a lot worse.... But during day one everything seemed so easy and positive, and now it appears to be a very big battle uphill. Sigh.
