Lexiscan and alcoholism

Hi Im new here starting my long journey, my will to stop is/was over shadowed by my last 22 yrs of drinking, now I'm having a lexiscan next Wed and am wondering if all the toxins still in my body will interact with the stuff they inject in me. Anyone here ever had a lexiscan nuclear stress test!

Wow...I haven't and have never even heard of it! Sounds intense.

Tell the people running the test about your history and what you are worried about may be in your system. They can help you.

Good luck.

We can't give any medical advice here kiddo. But the right advice in any case is to call your doctor giving the test and ask. Be honest with them about your drinking and the amount, even if you think they will be shocked.

And remember, the doctors define an alcoholic as anybody that drinks more than they do. (Just being Humerus. )

Good luck with your test.

Oh I was asking for medical advice just wondering had anyone gone thru what I an getting ready to. This is all new to me 1st time seeing a cardio doctor and like many I was to embarrassed to mention my addiction I thought it was kind of weird because it wasn't even a question on my new patient info sheet

Hi mts

I've never heard of a lexiscan much less had one, I'm afraid.

I agree it's best to ask your Dr if you're concerned - best to get a professional answer rather than a lot of guesses or opinions.

I know it's embarrassing and scary but I recommend you do come clean and detail your history with alcohol to a cardio Dr tho...
