Here I go.
Well today is the first day of not taking anymore pain pills. I took my last one this morning at 8:30 and i'm not taking anymore. EVER. My story is alot like others had neck problems from a car accident and started taking pain pills about a year ago. Found myself taking more everyday and then running out before time, and trying to find some. I am not even sure if I even need the pills anymore. I know that the next week will suck but hopefully I can fight through it. It helps reading about others strong will to get over it. Well wish me luck and i will keep posting as needed.

Welcome skinnywater!
Good for you for getting off the pills! Addiction is a one-way ride (and it just keeps going downhill). Glad you've joined us - it really helps to talk to others who "get it!"

Hi,
I am just 10 days clean from using opiods for 20 years.
I did go to a treatment center which really helped, you learn soo much.
You know it will suck for a week or two but after that you start to see things differently!!
Good Luck and just take ONE DAY @ A TIME
and don`t beat yourself up, what is done is done.....

Haning in there, I know i can do this. Going for 36 hours soon. What do you do for restlesness, I try to lay down and can doze off for about a half hour and then feel miseralble for couple hours take a hot shower and start it again.
Congratulations on 36 hours..... (that's 36 you never have to go through again)! I wish I could speed things up for you. Just remember that you're healing, so the misery will at least be a positive thing when it's all over.
One day, one hour at a time........ :ghug3

Massive headache that will not go away, forced myself to church and to walk

Quick update, the headache is finally gone and I am starting to feel alot better. Head is still foggy and legs are a little restless but other than that I feel pretty damn good. I do have a question and don't know how normal or if its related to quiting the damn pills, but I have been really emotional last couple of days. For example I was watching a movie last night and I actully got little teary eyed a couple of times. Oh well thats about it , going for day 6 tommorrow. Good Night, and God Bless all of you.
Hi skinny. I think it's great what you've accomplished. I have a close friend who - 10 years ago - had rotator cuff surgery. She is still addicted to several types of pain pills, even has resorted to buying them off the street - has gotten 2 dui's. She simply won't face it. I'm glad you did.
Yes, it's normal for our emotions to be all over the place in the beginning. I was very tearful over everything for awhile - but it all passed. You're going to be fine.
