I'm back..."again"
I'm back..."again"
Funny.. I looked at my last post and it was a year ago almost to the day when I last posted.. Durning that year I have drank on and off.. more on than off, stoping 5-6 weeks here and there for a time or two. It's been 1 and 1/2 weeks this time.. Maybe this time I can do it. I think I have alcohol Neruopathy. I will know more after I see the doc the first of Nov. But by the systoms I have and how it all started I'm sort of thinking that is what it is.. Bad thing it may not heal, good thing it made me stop hopefully for good. I never even heard of AN until I did some checking into the strange things that where going on with my legs.. But even if I knew about it, like most of us.. when we drank we don't think all those bad things pertain to us and it probably would not have stopped me from drinking.. Just wanted to say hi.. wish me luck.. I need it...

Great you are getting looked at.
An alcoholic I watched for a while rolled into AA in a wheelchair due to AN, but within 2 years sobriety was walking again and at 3 walking without a cane. A professor by trade, he was able to retire from the college and took off to the coast at about 10 years sober.
Welcome back. Hope you stick around and get the support in real life you need.

Good luck !
Fight for your life. I used drinking always as a filler or back up. I know for myself if I started to drink now it would lead me back down the darkness I just walked out of. I know it will come up. Its one of those mind tricks for me. If you know what the outcome of something is and we don't like it why would we do something we don't want on purpose?

Welcome back, Meblonde -
Sorry to hear about your health concerns. I hope getting sober will be all it takes for you to enjoy good health again. Thanks for posting - it reminds me (again) that it's hard to escape the consequences of drinking....... I wish you all the best!
