Hi there, i'm bren
Hey there forum! I'm bren and i am new here. I got home yesterday from residential rehab. I'm 31 days sober and happy (never thought i'd say that!). I learned a lot, got a lot out, and found myself while there.
I'm your garden variety, cross addicted addict. I hit my rock bottom on 9/27/11 when everyone i loved decided to put a mirror in front of me (intervention) and shatter the illusion that i had them all fooled. Best thing they ever did.
I've got IOP starting monday, i'm looking for a home group starting tomorrow, and therapy on tuesday of next week.
It's been a hell of an experience so far...but each day is better than the last so i gotta have faith that that general trend will continue.
My worst day sober beats the hell out of my best days high.
thanks
bren

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.
21 yrs ago I too entered rehab via
a family intervention where I stayed
28 days with a 6 week out patiant
aftercare program tact on.
I took those tools and knowledge of
my alcoholism and incorperated the
steps and principles set down before
us in my everyday affairs to live by
one day at a time and with changes
today I am happy joyous and free
from my addiction.
Everyday is a gift and blessing to be sober.

Glad you joined us, bren. Congratulations on your 31 days - you're doing great.
I've often wondered how I'd react to an intervention. It sounds like in your case it was a huge success. May things just keep getting better for you.
