And There was Much Rejoicing for the Sheep that once was Lost...
Two or three months ago, we met a new member who was in deep, deep trouble. We welcomed her, supported her, encouraged her, and did whatever little we could.
Yesterday, she contacted us, a new person. She is exploding with happiness now, clean and sober. The chat room sounded as though we had all won a share in the biggest lottery prize ever won. Much rejoicing indeed.
For all of us, especially those reaching out for the first time, this is a reminder that there is a wonderful and beautiful life waiting for all of us, full of joy and wonder. Make that first commitment to yourself, and never waver. You might get only one chance.
