Newbeginning thanks for the link,

I watched half of it, couldn't stomach the rest. I feel so lucky that I want to recover.
When I read the relapse stories I really think people are great to keep fighting the disease. and not giving up.
Yes Stormy my ears pricked up at the doctor reporting liver damage occuring down the track.

I have never heard of it

Hi Dawnie,

I just realized that I never followed up with a link to a documentary about alcoholism in the UK that you asked about in the past, so here it is for you now. Maybe now was the right time for you to see this. All of the best in your recovery ~ NB

God bless.

Some of you may remember Bret, episode 93, of the A&E show intervention. I hope this link comes through -- trying to post using my phone -- if the link to the full episode doesn't work I will try again tonight when I get a chance.

The full episode was taken down a while back but seems to be back up. WARNING... It's powerful

Wow, downloaded that episode of "Intervention" on iTunes and it is extremely powerful. I see a lot of myself in Bret. I also see a lot of myself in his son Kyle.

Intervention

I watched this and also the one about Jeff. It is tragic and such a powerful reminder of the grip that alcohol can have. So sad.

Terrible stuff. See my post on your other thread c49999, about Intervention.

As to the BBC show Rain in My Heart, wow. I wrote the BBC to try to find out what happened to Mark and Vanda. The follow up had them both alive with Vanda drinking more and Mark quitting. But that was in 2007. I really want to know what happened to the both of them.

From a FB search it seems that Vanda is dead. I sure hope not but I really want to know.

Saw the Bret episode and I've watched. Rain in my heart. I see people like those in the rooms of AA desperate to hang on to anything that will click for them to get them to stop. Unfortunately I may be stepping over a dead body (not literally) from my woman's group. She's yellow and can hardly speak as her esophagus is so messed up. . This is real life and death in front of my very eyes.
