Small miracles = big hope!
Small miracles = big hope!
Hey guys. Just wanted to share this with the group. So I had a good day, spent some time at the ocean working on my 4th step, got some errands done, etc...then got ready to go to work. I show up to work and someone else is there. We just switched our schedules and this was supposed to be my shift. Turns out, they switched it again and didn't tell me. Needless to say, I was pretty annoyed. I called my boss and he said no, you're not working tonight I must have forgot to tell you...so have a good night off.
Rewind about 3 months and my reaction would have been either A) sweet! I have the night off, I'm gonna wander the neighborhood and see who's out at the bars and have some drinks...or B) go home feeling really angry and stop at the store on the way to get a bottle of something...sit home alone and drink out of anger and self pity.
But, here's the best part...upon leaving work I immediately looked at my meeting schedule and found a meeting to go to. Ran home to get some bus money and headed straight to a womens meeting which was great. That feels so great and its so huge that i was just like...this is what I need to do now.
I'm so grateful to be sober!
