1st aa meeting

That is first AA meeting in many many yeuars. The meeting turned out good, glad that I went. At first really felt out of place, it was all girls much younger than I. I knew after I walked through the door that I was going to start crying and I hate that. They were all super nice and made me feel welcome. They said there are more ladies my age ay the Thursday night ladies meeting. Think I would like to try it but will have to tell hubby. I've told him I'm trying to quit drinking but I'm sure he doesn't think I will. He did not try to get me to drink last night.

I'm glad that your meeting went well.

If your husband is doubtful about your recovery, don't let it stop you. Show him by your actions that you're serious about this and making it work.

I agree with Anna - it's your recovery - not his
I'm really glad you're staying strong and that you made the meeting - good stuff!

Yes, well done for getting to the meeting. You mentioned that you felt like crying before you went in. Did you actually feel a bit less tearful once the meeting was finished? Did it have an impact on your mood, out of interest?

mood

I felt really good by the end of the meeting and we were all laughing. I talked just wish I could have without crying. I think maybe next time.

Even guys cry at meetings. Nothing to be worried about. Emotion is good. I'm glad your hubby didn't try to get you to drink. Support at home is really important.

Why is crying upsetting? You're releasing feelings... It's the one place where all feelings from women and men are expressed. Your emotions kept someone from drinking!

Welcome home! Keep coming back!
