Day One... Here goes!
Hello all, I'm pretty new to this so just a little background on me: 27 years old, female, happily married, college grad, just moved to a new state with my guy, and I admit I drink too much. Anyhow, my drinking years are over! I'm ready for a happier healthy me. So, I set today as my stop date about a week ago. Today is my hubbys bday so I thought it would be a good day. Drank a bit last night to celebrate his b-day and my new goals, but not enough to feel bad today. I'm ready to get this started! First goal: Dinner out tonight with neighbors... no wine! I'm driving to keep the temptation even lower. I'll let you all know how it goes!
Howdy, Camille. You are invited to have a good look around SR, pull up that comfy chair in the corner, and make yourself at home.
It sounds like you have a plan about your future use of alcohol, and that plan is to not take another drink. While that plan is forming in your mind, you can ask yourself if anything bad had ever happened to you by not drinking. You can also start to make a list of the good things that will happen to you by staying sober.
There is a lot of support here. Please take advantage of it on your way to sobriety, so that you can take your turn by helping other newly sober folks in your own time.

If your drinking years are truly over, will temptation change your decision? Something to ponder.
Hi Camille! Oh, how I wish I'd done that at 27. My entire life would've been so different. You don't need that poison in your life.
