Hi, I am about a week short of 6 months sober, very exciting!!

I entered a 21 day inpatient rehab program back in April.

I cannot begin to describe how much better my life is now. I am such a different person. I have grown up so much in these past months. I feel like me again, the person I was before I started drinking, that I forgot existed. I am actually a friendly, outgoing, nice person! Wow!

I didn't come to this forum much after a few months of sobriety because I went back to uni part time and didn't have much time, but I have been coming back on the past few weeks and want to get more active on it.

Anyway have a great Sunday everyone, It is a long weekend here in Australia so I have another day to sleep in tomorrow, awesome!

This is really weird, Ozgirl. Not 2 minutes ago online while I was reading about the history of booze, I saw a photo of Hogarth's print "Beer Street and Gin Lane" and now I see it's your avatar.

Ozgirl that is fabulous news - great job! I feel like you do - I'm finding the real me after years of suffocating her. Amazing how we thought we needed that poison.

-The TinMan - coming up to 6 months does feel significant. I definitely feel stable now compared to how I was a few months into sobriety, I think I was acting very impulsively and was a bit mad in retrospect, still am quite mad though :)

-aussieblue, the public holiday is very much appreciated, I am still in bed :)

-Bellakeller, I really like those 2 prints. I enjoy reading about history, there are some good books on Amazon regarding substance abuse history etc.

-ejoshua, my sobriety date is the 8 April 2011. Are you in April too?
