Sober for 3 days n counting

It's crazy when u r trying to quit n it seems like the more pressure there is suddenly around you to drink. I did not really tell a soul of my intentions to quit. Yet I was talked into hosting a dinner party. I had to fail one last time I think for me to appreciate my decision to quit drinking. I am more determined than ever. Wish me luck.

Welcome aboard firstbuckles

I know my life was pretty much built around drinking, so it was really no surprise I had a few big tests straight up...

lots of support here tho - good to have you with us!

Why not start a new trend and don't serve alcohol at the dinner?
In my world....the host and hostess choose what food and beverages are offered..

Welcome to our recovery community....
Good to know you are heading into a sober future.

If there are no challenges or roadblocks in your way then your sense of accomplishment once you succeed would not be as gratifying!

Good luck!

Firstbuckles - It's great that you've decided to reach out for a new life. I failed a few times before finally getting it - sometimes that's necessary.

I think you'll find SR so valuable - it'll keep you busy during those first days when your nerves are on edge. I came here 4 yrs. ago out of curiosity and never left - it's meant everything to me to have people who truly understand. Not being alone takes the sting out of our troubles. Let us know how it's going.
