Weaving all over the road.

Saw a guy ahead of me weaving all over the road today.
Was afraid to pass him, but I did and noticed that he was drinking a beer while driving.
I called the police on my cell, had 2. Was worried about so many others.
Been there myself many times when I drove that way and grateful that I never killed a soul or harmed anyone. So grateful again that I'm sober today.
What would you have done?

I would have called the police, it's the responsible thing to do.

I have kids who are pretty inexperienced drivers, I wouldn't want them to be on the road near this guy.

what you did, TC - for sure.
Everyone who dies on our roads is one too many.

I would have definately called the cops, too. Especially if he was obviously swirving.

Not to change the subject, but over Labor Day weekend I was heading home from work at 10pm and hit a sobriety check point. They shine the light in your car and ask if you've had any alcoholic beverages. I really had all I could do to keep from bursting out laughing saying that I was a recovering alcoholic and haven't drank since January -but I shyly stated "No, Sir, I'm just coming home from work". He let me pass. LOL

I had a weaver in front of me the other day—turns out she was texting. Studies show that in terms of reaction time, there's no difference between that and driving drunk.

You bet I'd call the cops. My kid has to share the roads with these selfish jerks.

I saw a girl in a tiny civic almost run into the back wheels of an 18 wheeler from the left side because she was texting. Literally she stopped within 6 inches of her passenger side door hitting those wheels. Oh and yeah, we were on a busy Houston freeway with traffic going at around 60-70mph. Scared the living crap out of me because we were in the car behind her.

It's amazing how freaking stupid people can be.

I have done that myself a few times, good call. You may have saved someone's life.

exactly what you did...I've called in dangerous drivers before.
It may prevent an accident...it is the responsible way to deal with bad drivers. .......

I take the bus. Most people are texting, many talking without a bluetooth.

So lucky I didn't get a DUI, hurt or kill someone or myself. I would have called. I know I always thought I was able to drive when I was drunk. How stupid, selfish and careless I was.

My husband called on this woman who was swerving and about hit a telephone pole late one night. When the police pulled her over, there was a small child in the car. You did the right thing.

You did the right thing--same thing you would do if a crazy person was waving around a loaded weapon in a crowded room. There isn't much difference.

Drive with me at night, and you will be amazed at how many are drunk on the road.

I can count at least 10 on the way home sometimes, and more depending on drive time.

Have been hit once, and many close calls.

I was on the receiving end of "meeting a drunk driver" End result 13 knee operations and the loss of a promising hockey career. I've called them in before as well but trust me I would have liked to have dealt with it myself. Nice job calling the cops!

Thanks everyone!
I really believe that I did the right thing too.
Goodness knows, that I was once just like that person weaving everywhere.
Do not know the outcome of this driver and really do not care, but hope that they get and receive help.
