Step by step

Hi everyone.
I'm ashamed to say that I joined SR in
July 2009!!
I've come back because this is day one
for me. I've been drinking at least 2
bottles of wine a night for years.
I've had enough, the alcohol worker I
went to see was no help so I am here
for support from you.
I'm planning to try and occupy myself
and take it one day at a time.
There must be a better life.
Wish me luck. X

Take it one day at a time and don't drink, no matter what. It's a bit rough at first but it does get better.

Welcome back, ukdigger!

I was a nightly wine drinker, too. It got harder and harder to go a day without it. I felt shaky and jumpy every morning, watching the clock, just waiting until I could "normalize" with a drink. Not a good way to live.

I'm really glad you're here. If we can do it, you can too.....

Hi
Day 2. Just got home from work.
All has been good so far.
I do feel very grumpy at the minute though.
Does anyone else get an awful metallic taste
in their mouth?
I'm not going to drink alcohol, I bought some
Juices and soda water instead.
Although I'm not very happy at the moment,
it was nice to not be worried about breathing
Booze fumes over everyone at work.
Gonna cook dinner now.

Welcome back! No shame in trying again, only shame in failing to try again.

I wasn't very happy for quite a while ukdigger - stick with it tho
See a Dr if you're worried about the metallic taste - I have no experience there.
