Welcome Zappa - congratulations on your 11 days!

Glad you feel at home..... There are people here from all over the world, which is very cool, and we're all dealing with the same issues. Just knowing we're not alone helps so much.

I was a nightly wine drinker, too. I don't think I realized how much it dictated my life until I got sober. It's great to feel good about myself and life again. Keep up the good work......

Day 12:

Having had a few fantastic nights, with good sleep and finally remembering my dreams. Good dreams! Feel rested, calm and proud almost all the time. Did my first run in the forest after DT today, and the result was amazing! I have tried to keep in shape for years, but with my addiction it has been very hard to keep motivated. This is about to change now! I am close to promise my self to run marathon next summer... Holy ****!! I love my life right now

My 45. birthday coming up thursday next week- My first sober birthday in 30 years... Scary thought.... I`ll stick around you guys!

Way to go on 12 days - you have a great attitude!
Well, it's YOUR birthday, so you get to choose how you'll spend it. Have a really nice dinner, paint a wall, buy a new running outfit..... there's a million things to do without drinking.

Remind yourself where you want to be next year on your birthday and go for it!

My wife asked me just now if I actually was serious about not sharing a few bottles of wine on my birthday. I said: Yes I am sure! No wine for me. I would if I could, but I can`t.

Thats good you turn it down but I should she is more supportive because you don't want to mess up with your sobriety and your wife should be 100% behind you with it beside you.
