My 2 year old has a cut on her foot and tonight it looked like it was getting infected. Our antibiotic cream expired in 2007 so I said "I'll go to CVS and get some more".
And I did.
Got in my car, drove to the store, even got some sour gummy worms.
I leave for vacation tomorrow. I am anxious/busy and would for SURE have been plastered by 7pm.
No more, baby. No more!!

I still haven't lost the habit of looking for cops constantly, and breaking out in a cold sweat whenever I see one when I'm driving, but then I remember I don't have anything to worry about.
Then I start to fantasize about being pulled over by a cop, rolling down my window when he walks up and when he says "Have you been drinking tonight?" saying "No sir, I haven't had a drink in over four months."

I agree completely, I am taking long drives whenever I want to and I am always "gearing" up....at Dunkin Donuts (iced coffee)!!!!! There is NOTHING like it!!! That meaning the freedom, the DD's coffee and having no fear!!!
And ditto to what eJoshua said, I still start to panic whenever I see a cruiser, and then have to remind myself I am sober!!!
I hope her little foot is better, and I hope you have a great vacation!!

Sadly, during my drinking days, I would've rationalized the expiration date as being a marketing ploy to get me to buy more, and would've just used the tube I had on hand.

It's hard to be a good mom when you're either plastered or nursing a hangover. I love just being present and reliable. You've given your daughter a precious gift. Hope her foot heals quickly.
