First Timer....hopefully last timer (taking the bad stuff that is)
Hello. I am a first timer here, or on any forum for that matter, and just finally figured out how to post. As my screen name states, aug13011 (first day not taking anything), this is my second day not taking anything. I'm hoping its the second day of many to come. I have been on and off with opiates for 5 to 6 years. Mostly recreational use. I guess i should also state the amount I have been taking. Usually 60 to 120 mgs a day.....whatever i can get my hands on or feel like is needed. The not so funny thing is, its NOT NEEDED......where do I go from here???? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I gotta go...but thanks to all who have welcomed me here...I gotta go and muster up some energy to play with my son. I realize in the coming days this will be a more difficult task, but I am ready....I will be back soon.
Great job! You're right, you don't need them. In fact, once you have a bit of sobriety time under your belt I'm sure you'll wonder why you didn't quit sooner.
Have you considered looking into a support group, such as NA?
Best wishes.

Welcome to SR! Check in often and be good to yourself. It's okay to watch movies with your son right now. Just sit on the couch with your arm around him. Eat popcorn. The next few days I'm guessing you will need a diversion. A good line up of Pixar might be helpful. And ice cream.
Congratulations on your decision. Hang in there. It's worth it.

I'm going to get Diary of a Wimpy kid, part 2 Roderick rules! I am 50, and will watch with the cat, clean/organize paperwor I've avoided filing, and get my 90 day chip tonight!
Don't worry about what's next, just know each day you'll be more alert & alive!!
