Hello all.
Newbie here with my first post. I was hoping I could get some info related to withdraw timeline.
I have quit before and never had any problems, but this time I am experiencing high anxiety which just started to get really bad today and I haven’t had anything to drink in about 8 days.
I am diagnosed with depression since my job loss and take Xanax 2-3 per day. I have also become very shaky which has never happened before. I am having trouble figuring out if this is related to my high stress situation with lack of employment/income or stopping drinking, or both??
Thanks for any input.

Hi Changeup
Welcome
I think it's always a good idea to get yourself checked out by a Dr, if you haven't already done so. I think it's especially important if you're taking other medication as well.
There are just too many individual factors to accurately predict a withdrawal timeline for anyone I think - but we do have a thread where members share their detox experiences from alcohol - you may find some useful reading there:

Changeup - We're so glad you are here! You have good advice already, so I'll just say - congratulations on wanting a better & healthier life. 8 days without alcohol is a huge accomplishment.
I found that posting here helped calm my anxiety. I learned so much, and no longer felt alone when I checked in here. I received alot of support and encouragement that no one else in my life could offer. I hope you'll continue to post & let us know how you're doing.

8 Sober days is awesome work! Just know that it does and will get better. I agree with all of the advice, its a great idea to check with your doctor, they really can help.
Good luck and I look forward to hearing how you get along.
