Here's to the Weekend
Here's to the Weekend
I used to look forward to the weekend so much because I knew I could drink myself silly all weekend.
The only problem was every weekend was a blur. I felt like I went from Friday night to Monday morning in the blink of an eye and I wouldn't even remember all the "fun" I had, sitting alone in my bedroom, watching tv and drinking myself to death. By Monday morning I was just as stressed out as when I left work on Friday.
These days, I appreciate the weekends so much more. Sure, they can be tough sometimes because they make me remember all the "good" times I had, but they are so much better now then they ever were when I was drinking.
Now during my weekend I have time to relax, focus on the things I really care about, meet with the people I love and spend my time growing and learning. Mondays aren't as stressful as they used to be, and I actually remember what I did last weekend when someone at work asks me how my weekend was.
Sober weekends kill using weekends any day of the week (pun intended)
