Survived my first week!
Hello to all:
I'm very happy to report that I survived my first week of sobriety. To be very honest with you, it was not as difficult as I thought it would be. Tuesday was the only day when I had cravings and came very close to having a drink. In fact, I even walked into a bar on my way home, but ended up ordering club soda.
Being sober definitely feels good. Also, it is really nice to know that I didn't waste $500 on stupid alcohol this week. Now, I'm going to the mall and buying something very nice for myself as a reward
Thank you all for the words of encouragement and the advice. You guys rock!
Week two, here I come!!

Nice job! Glad it didn't feel as hard as you expected. I'm finding the triggers do come more frequently when I'm in a bar, but I'm also looking around at people doing stupid things and it's keeping me on track lol Also, whoever posted here that most cravings go away after about 7 minutes was a Godsend. I'm finding that if I just wait them out I'm fine. Congrats on your first week, and enjoy your reward!
