Holiday , nearly made it :(

Hi all.

Had a few weeks under my belt and then the holiday to Portugal with family and friends , went for 9 days, first 6 fantastic no drink early rising without any hangovers This was hard , because in the main I hate these type of holidays with a passion, brutal heat and mind numbing pools/beach , I know every ones different and some like the idle roasting alive in the heat by a pool, I only go once a year to keep everyone happy Anyway I was surviving but after the 6th day the sheer mundaneness of it all I ending up drinking to get through the last few days, feeble excuse I know , yes it made things far worse that's all I can say.

But back to damp cloudy uk and happy !

Not going next year, they can all go on their own gotta make a stand.

Well, you realize that is is a feeble excuse so hop back in the wagon! You're still here! Glad you're not going next year. Being surrounded by temptation in an unpleasant environment isn't something many people with years of sobriety would attempt. Also, why holiday when you don't enjoy it? Defeats the purpose, silly!

Yeh I know, not doing it ever again.

Sad thing is that I like went On autopilot and just bought a drink, really strange did not want it or was really thinking about it, just like I was possessed.

As long as I looked for excuses, I found them. Glad you're back!
