I spent the afternoon with my daughter today.We now talk about my alcoholism in great length. (her choice) She asks me questions about it. She told me today that she started drinking a lot when she turned 21. Even though she only drank 2 nights a week, she was so worried she was an alcoholic. It wasn't mount of days but the fact that she couldn't stop at just a couple. She wanted to drink until she was drunk. Because of my experiences and the history of alcoholism in her family, she knows she is at high risk. She has decided she will no longer take that chance and will not drink again. If anything positive came out of my drinking, it is that it may have saved my beautiful daughter a life of pain and addiction. She sees my struggles. How did a 22 year old be so much wiser then her 44 year old mother. I am truly blessed.

Alcohol is a symptom of a mental, physical and spiritual disease for me. AA works for me.

No she has not. She figures she would stop before it becomes a problem. Smart kid.
