Chapel Hill, NC AA Meetings

I'm going to be trying out some of these meetings because I haven't felt great in some of the other towns around the area. I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any experience there or other college town AA meetings?

Especially someone 34 years old and an alumnus of the college.

I wanted to try and change the title rather than starting a new thread, but are there disadvantages or advantages to going to meetings near college campuses. Specifically, where I went to school?

I think I'd really connect to some of folks there based on some probable mutual experiences with some of the attendees. Anyhow, yea or nay to going to meetings where you learned a lot of your behaviors? I never drank until I was actually 21, so it was all in college.

You will likely know some people in the meetings. Do not fear for your anonymity. They are there for the same reason as you. Being in a college town there will likely be a lot of you people there. I am not sure if you consider these positives or negatives.

I consider them positives. The only negative I can think of is the number of folks forced to go by a judge.

I run into at least 1 person I know at most meetings.

I am there to save my life.
