Small victory

When asked if I wanted to go for a drink after work tonite, "I'm not drinking but thanks" actully came out of my mouth - and it only felt bad for a few seconds!!! Welcome to the new normal, right?! Stay strong everyone; WE can do this!

There are no small victories in sobriety, only great and brave ones.

Way to go! Yep, that's how you do it: one day at a time, one situation at a time. It gets easier with practice, of course..... It's not always comfortable, for sure, but I found out after a bit of time that I actually have a better sense of humor, am more attentive to others and appreciate things more when I'm sober. That realization really helped me to be less fearful of being around people at social events.

Keep up the good work!! :scoregood
