Hi there =) I'm Martin. I've made a couple of half-hearted attempts to quit (quit alcohol, quit weed, quit the rest etc), trying AA once (I lasted 11 days) although I'm only 21 so haven't been drinking for *that* many years anyway -
-although I'm already bored of the stuff. Plus I don't like the person it turns me into. Loud, obnoxious, cruel, histrionic, etc
I didn't plan this detox or whatever I call it, but on a spur of the moment I decided to try and stop, so I'm now 12 days since my last binge. Done with the vomiting and feeling like my intestines have been stamped on, still waking up drenched in sweat at stupid times in the morning but hopefully that'll go. Physical problems are fading, but I'm starting to notice just how long days are =/
I'm getting bored. Which isn't good. D:
Using other stuff to cope with the cravings, but I forced myself to throw my clonazepam away as I was starting to save it up to take several at once, which isn't really what I was prescribed it for. That was hard.
I meant this to be short, but as usual I've just gone on and on. I always do that when discussing my favourite topic (myself) lol xD + when there's a chance I'll be on forums for a while I like to introduce myself, and I might be sticking around if I don't crack tomorrow morning and break into the off-licence :P *not that I'm planning on that*

Welcome to the family. I gave up drinking nineteen months ago and my life is steadily improving. I wouldn't drink again if I were paid to do it. Just not worth it.
I hope we can be of as much help to you as this place has been for me.

Good for you. I was twenty one once and hadn't been using that long eith, then all of a sudden I was 64 and I had. You mentioned half hearted attempts, I've had my share now I know it takes a full heart. Welcome and stick around.
Hi, and welcome! Glad you are doing this early in life - as with other posters, one day I was a 21 year old binge drinker, the next I was a 38 year old daily heavy drinker. It wasn't pretty, and I just can't believe how fast the time went between *that* person and the next..
Quick question...what 'other stuff' are you using to help you with the withdrawal? Are they prescribed meds, or something you have lying about? Just be careful, that's all.
As to the Brit stuff...I'm a Brit now living in California, so anyone who reminds me of my Mother Land, especially through dry wit, sarcasm and humor is a friend to me
