checkpoint: 4 weeks i guess it's not quite 30 days, but 4 weeks of not having a drop of liquor is uncharted territory for me. as i mentioned in another thread, the biggest change was making small, but consistent steps to make adjustments in the lifestyle to add more positive reinforcements. so far cravings are far and few in between and the new found energy and many mental symptoms like anxiety and depression are starting to clear up. it's great to feel hope and ambition. it's also great to go grocery shopping without being buzzed (not spending money on more liquor), who would've thought? |
Thanks Serious and congratulations! Isn't it so much Better without all the drama? How to rotate liquor stores, how to get rid of so many empties, planning (and then remembering) where to hide it, planning on that time alone so I could get hammered senseless. ALL that time and energy so wasted.... Just passing 7 weeks and haven't looked back. Life is just SO much easier on all fronts! Good for you! ..Mike |
that is great serious! i am a newbie, on day 3, & i agree about drinking being so exhausting:) i also feel you on the going to the store buzzed. not only would i buy more alcohol, but i would buy other stuff that i didn't even need because i was to out of it to care. take care! rae |
