Cirrhosis

It's slowly dawning on me that my almost 2 decade long abuse of alcohol could have far reaching ramifications, even if I were successful in quitting right now. I think I want to see a doctor to be tested for cirrhosis of the liver. Will a doctor do that? Does anyone know if there are other ways to know?

I'm not aware of any 'home' ways to diagnose cirrosis

See your Dr - I know I found my general health results were much better than they deserved to be - I hope yours will be too

A complete blood count, also called a blood panel, will test liver function.

I drank for 30 years and wanted to know too. My tests came up fine, except being low in vitamin D.

Good luck.

Yes, your dr can do blood tests for that.

It's normal to be scared about health issues when we stop drinking. But, whatever situation your health is in now, the best thing to do now is to stay sober and take care of yourself.
