24 Days Down and many more to go.

Today is day 24 of being alcohol free. I am new to this site.

Reading posts on this site have helped me out a lot. I had my 1st drink when

I was 14. Didn't start the heavy drinking till around the age of 20. I would

usually do what they call binge drinking. Multiple days a week and in heavy

volumes. I've up until now had what I thought was control of it. But I didn't.

I always thought that because I could stop, I didn't have a problem. I

started to notice that when I did drink it was a lot and for multiple days at a

time. It took me 8 to 12 shot of 40%(80 Proof) liquor to get drunk. I started

getting bad anxiety, and shaking. It's bad when your hand shakes as you

take your 1st shot of the night. I'm starting to notice I don't wanna ever go

threw this again. I should have noticed back the 1st time I stopped drinking

back in April of 2009. That time I went 4 months. Told my self I'm fine and

just need to get better control of it. In September of 2009 I started to drink

1 or 2 Mikes Hard lemonades every once in a while. That didn't last long, and

I was right back at it. Which took me to now. Sober 24 days and counting.

Starting to feel better slowly.
