Starting Day 1 again
Good morning all,
Before I ran off to work, I wanted to put in writing that I am starting day 1 again today. I'm learning from my mishaps and realize that I need to do a few things differently this time around.
Take care of yourselves!

Recovery should pick up momentum once you get through those first few days. Good luck today. Make a solid plan for tonight? That really helped me. Planning down to the minute and telling myself that any deviation from that plan (in the direction of alcohol) was the alcoholic talking. That's all it was. The alcoholic talking. IGNORE THE ALCOHOLIC!!

I did make a plan for tonight and stuck to it. Since I drank yesterday, I probably won't get a craving for another day or two. That's when the little voice in my head tells me it's okay to drink because it's not like I do it everyday but I know it's the alcoholic talking!
I'm going to stick close to this forum for a while. Everyone is so supportive. We can get through this together and learn from eachother.

First of all, I'm a bit of a closet drinker, so I'm going to try and make a plan when I sense that I will be home alone. Even if it's just getting out for a walk or shopping or whatever. A lot of people suggested going to bed early. What a concept! I'm also going to visit SR more often and post. There is a whole list of things that I want to do in my life but I'm going to take this one day at a time and not overwhelm myself. Baby steps!
