Hi I just signed up today
Just looking for some support and someone to talk to... I've self medicating for so long i dont know where to start, but I figured somewhere like this would be good. I just really feel like everything is slowly starting to slip away, but i hide it sooo well from everyone.. Well ont mind me if im a lil anti-social at first I'll come around then, it just take me a lil.

We're a pretty friendly bunch here - just take your time, go at your own pace.
I started as a self medicator too - it is hard to know where to start when alcohol's found it's way into every facet of your life...
Have you thought of seeing a Dr - that's often a good place to start - detox can sometimes be a little problematic, for some of us...it's always best to be safe.
You'll find a lot of support here

I know where ya coming from, I used to drink very very heavily, but thats the one thing i did cut back.... but filled the spot with other stuff... Im just l get low right, I'll fell better tomarrow

sorry spi - I don't know why I thought you meant alcohol - I know the principle of self medication was basically the same for me tho, regardless of the drug/s I was using at the time.....

Welcome to SR spi, So glad you found us and you'll get lot's and lot's of support and good info and advice here.
I was just like you and found my whole life slipping away 2 years ago, you don't have to get to that bottom of that rope to get off spi. I found support to be the missing piece to get me started. The first thing I did was have a honest talk with my doctor and I mean honest, I laid it all out on the table and he kind of show me some of the recovery program at me and i pick one.
Well I'm here today and still have all my fingers and toes which is a miracle and sober, and I live a life that I could never even imagined I would have.
