Life

Finally gave up the stuggle three months ago. My counsellor asked me if i had thought of giving up. I said of course, i would love to stop drinking. He smiled and explained not giving up drinking but giving up the fight against something that is much bigger than me. Admitting that i am powerless left me feeling as though i was a failure and less of a man. I am now beginning to Realise the importance of what i have found out to be the first step. A weight is starting to lift and am not spending every waking moment wasting my time and energy battling something i can never conquer. It has taken twenty years to make this first small step and yet it is still hard to admit to being powerless , my journey continues......
