When do the withdrawal symptoms begin?

Depression

I'm on my third day of detox. I don't have the physical withdrawal but intense despair and depression. Is this normal and how long does it last

yes I think that's very normal - it certainly was for me.

I'd abused my body and mind for a long time as a drinker - it took me a couple of weeks to start to feel ok again

Please do check with your Dr tho if you're concerned about it or if you think it's going on too long

This is not a part of AA. You make amends for what you did wrong. If you did nothing wrong, these people are not on your amends list. By the way an apology does not equal an amends.
