Lawn therapy

Cut the grass, pulled weeds, yesterday - took my mind off of beer, good stuff.

Lots of neighbours were enjoying their fermented beverages.

Anyways, gotta run - 11 am meeting at a local hospital, open speaker.

Might check out a new meeting tomorrow after work, close by my office.

Has anyone purchased the publication "24 Hours a Day" at an AA meeting? Small, black, book...my buddy Rod was given one by his sponsor a couple weeks ago, I'm thinking of buying it.

My neighbors will tell you I am always in the yard cutting my grass, pulling weeds or planting something. I bet your yard looks great!

AA meetings wouldn't be likely to be selling that book, because it is published by Hazelden (a very respected rehab), not AA. It IS an excellent book, and you can most likely buy it online at Hazelden's site or at Amazon, or if you have a local recovery bookstore it is probably stocked there.

AA does have its own meditation book called, "Daily Reflections." There are also a number of other daily meditation books out there. The one you are referring to is probably one of the most widely used and loved, though.

IMO it is BETTER than the AA approved "Daily Reflections". I suspect most meetings won't sell it is because no one would buy "Daily Reflections" if they had both side by side.

Most of the meetings I've been at at don't sell anything not Conference-Approved. I can understand that, but fortunately, word of mouth steers people to the other resources.

I have "Daily Reflections" too. I got it at a VA rehab.
