It's hard to believe, but it's finally happened. My sponsor has been working hard to make sure that I become as involved as I can with AA, especially since I'm still struggling with the prayer and higher power thing.

This particular meeting hall has a long history and there can be quite a bit of drama at some meetings/times but my sponsor insisted that I put my name up on the chair board for a six month comittment. This is also the downtown meeting so there are people from every walk of life in the room.

Everyone was so supportive, even as I stumbled through some of the protocols they were quick to help as soon as I asked. Since it was the last meeting of the day I dropped the money in the safe and locked up - yup, they even gave me a key a couple weeks ago.

I used today's daily reflection as the topic and it was so interesting to catch all the different points of view on the topic "24 hours." My sponsor and another AA friend were both there to support me.

I'm exhausted and need to be up in 6 1/2 hours.

Congrats!

I did my first one in December and I've done a dozen or so since. I was nervous before my first one but now I enjoy it. It really makes me feel like one of the group. I bet you feel the same way.
