A decade ago I tried AA and it didn't work because I wasn't willing to be open minded enough to work it. Now I go to AA every day and it has kept me sober for 8 months.
I know people who hove been in the program for 12 years and go to two meetings a day.
It's a place to make friends and, more importantly, to learn.
A decade ago, I didn't appreciate that alcoholism is a disease and to earn that definition it had to be progressive.
And it is. It only gets worse. Two bottles of wine? Me too. They were expensive. The cost me a career, a couple of houses, and a couple of wives. The service charge was the respect of my children.
Two bottles of wine just with a couple of shots thrown in just might be the definition of an alcoholic. As for your husband, maybe he's wrong about you. Has he been wrong before?
