Was worried about attending an end of the year party tonight because everyone would be drinking. Right when I arrived I received a call that I student form my site was in surgery and critical condition due to an accident that happened at school today.

I rushed to the hospital and waited with the parents, he is going to be there for a few weeks, but things look good.

I definitely felt like I needed a drink by the time I got home, but instead I logged on here after putting my kids to bed.

Say some prayers for this student if you will.

I am doing okay, just worried. I am upstairs with my laptop and a book. I think sleep may be difficult tonight so I figured SR was a safe obsession and distraction. Thanks for thinking about me.

Good call. It's easy to dwell on difficult and bad things this early in recovery. I find reading here helps me relax and is part of my sleep routine.
