Skipping a meeting tonight

Got home late from work, went to bank with wife, shopping, now garbage...no meeting tonight...but I DO have my recovery literature to read.

I wish you all a serene evening (it's 7:42 pm here in Toronto area), or morning, or afternoon...or whatever time of day it is in your areas!

Kelly

Hi Kelly, how is it being back at home? Sounds like you are making good steps forward. Keep up the great work.

Anna 05-31-2011 05:53 PM

Hey Kelly, it's good to know you're back home and doing well.

Missy7 05-31-2011 07:14 PM

Hey there Kelly. I'm glad you're home and living the pattern.

I've found as I struggle that the pattern is so important. I just want to get in the car, get a cup of coffee, drive home and live the hours. An hour for dinner. And hour around the house. Two hours in front of the TV. Lie in bed awake and sober an hour.

Then I can get up in the morning and go through that pattern.

Thanks for reminding me. Now you're back at work, running errands, taking care of things. How does it feel?

Glad you are doing well...just don't skip TOO many meetings. ok? Getting too comfortable and too complacent is the root of all evil.
I've been skipping my after care meetings still try to make it to AA every Thursday night. Ya just can't do everything sometimes.

I have been using SR as my support group. It has been hard to get to a meeting between work and kids. I am reading and using SR to help me.

MsCooterBrown 05-31-2011 08:12 PM

Glad you are finally home Kelly. :)

pinkgurl87 06-01-2011 11:31 AM

Mcribb 06-01-2011 02:10 PM

get back to one when you can! :)

I think it's ok to skip a meeting as long as you work on your recovery everyday, reading literature counts.

AA meetings

I am trying to get to one that starts in 40 minutes....but it SURE is nice signing on to SR for some support, also!

My recovery program is multifaceted, going to meetings is just one part of it. You are early in your recovery, so meetings are probably more important to you, and you should go to as many as you can. Do you have a sponsor yet?

KellyToronto 06-01-2011 03:38 PM

Sponsor

Not yet.

"Touring" lots of meetings in my area (Toronto, Canada area).

K out

Toronto is one of my favorite cities. The last time I was there I stayed at the Westin Harbour Castle and managed to find a liquor store within walking distance. It's sad how an alcoholic scouts these things out.

The next time I'm there I'm going to scout out some AA meetings instead. I'm sure there are a multitude of meetings all over the area.

Where are you in the steps?

It's about the steps we take not the meetings we make.
