Went for a bike ride this morning with a good friend and then for breakfast. I told her that I had decided to stop drinking because I felt like my nightly glass of wine had become a few too many every night. She was extremely supportive, and said she has been there in the past. She is one of my closest friends and we are both educators, so it is nice to have her on my side. I am now at my mother in laws and I am taking the kids in the hit tub, planning on avoiding the cooler filled with drinks and sticking to the diet green tea I brought with me. Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day!!!

Good for you. I have found that when I announce to my friends and family that I am no longer drinking, the response has always been positive. When I was drinking I was so self-centered that I actually thought people would be lining up outside my door wanting an hour long interview as to why I had made this decision...

It's really not a big deal to most people - but it's a huge deal for me.
