Here's some great tips about family get togethers and social occasions (it's specifically for Thanksgiving but I think it works pretty much across the board)

Ok I made it. I am really proud of myself. Last time i quit the first weekend was not as bad. But then I only planned to stop for 4 weeks. I have been feeling lonely ,bored and frustrated. But what is so amazing is how something seems to have liftet this sunday. My mood is so much better and I am actually rested so that I can be productive the rest of the week. Reading at sober-recovery have really been helping me I think.

I planned to be productive and catch up on some reading, clean my house, visit old relatives. I was not able to do anything like that at all. So I am very happy that I made it even though the urge do drink was very strong.

Excellent job getting through the last couple days! I hear you on the cravings - it's not easy to get through them at first with our emotions all over the place. It does get better though!

Glad you're starting to feel better!

Way to go. Getting through this should be a great help for the time the next holiday comes around, July 4th.
