One Program's Take on the Relapse Cycle

I buried this material w/in a related thread several days ago. But, as we enter a holiday weekend (for Americans) I thought I'd post the "Celebrate Recovery" description of the Relapse Cycle. This has been a very helpful tool I've used to occasionally take my recovery temperature. I hope it's beneficial to others in the SR universe.

This relapse cycle construct features the "Four Cs":

Complacency - When we start thinking "I got this" and stop focusing on recovery.

Confusion - Rationalizing our way out of believing there's a problem.

Compromise - Returning to the risky situations, thought patterns, etc. that got us into trouble in the first place.

Catastrophe - The final step....acting out the addiction.

Where (if anywhere) are YOU on this fine Friday?

Very helpful...thanks! I'm hoping I'm at whatever comes before the first C since I certainly don't feel like "I got this"...

Connected -- to my Higher Power. (I might go so far as to make it a double "C" -- Consciously Connected).

That keeps me out of the relapse cycle.
