I like AA
I am so proud to say that 60 days for me will be this saturday.
I really dont think I could have done this without AA. Mainly because I have met so many great people through it, who can relate and support me.
I am so glad I didnt get scared away by the higher power thing... it freaked me out at first. and now that i see that it can be whatever you want it to be, its awesome. I am really starting to develop a relationship with my higher power.
There are definitely still some hard things goin on. I wanted to drink worse than ever on this past sat night. but i called my sponsor. and she helped me look at my options. i prayed to my higher power, and i didnt drink. I am so thankful for that.
Still dealing with the breakup.. it still sucks worse than ever. but i do know it will be better one day, just dont know how to get there.
Sorry to ramble, just thought I should check in. And also say to anyone who is on the fence about AA, try it out and go in with an open mind. <was lookin for a smiley and thought that guy was funny.

60 days?! Thats great! Hey, just know this. No matter what life throws at ya you have those 60 days, and 1 more everyday. Think about it. You have freakin 60 days sober! How cool is that!?
I got some junk in my life that would make the old me want to drink. But I just tell myself no matter how crappy it seems, I've got these X amount of days sober! That alone puts a huge smile on my face, and nothing feels better than that.
So stay strong and keep rolling down that sober highway! If you feel like it, you can go buy yourself a ferrari and cruz with me. Because I'm flying up here

Great job with 60 days!
I too love AA. It has saved me from a certain death through my alcoholism. I now have over 10 years of sobriety because of the program of AA. Before I tried it I was unable to gain more than a few months of "sobriety" before I would relapse and drink again. Plus while I was "sober" without AA I was absolutely nuts, I hated every minute of the day and all I could think about was when I would be able to drink again.

Right on Gorpus!
I'm also an AA'er and also an ATLien.
...and sober for 18 months now. AA saved my life, removed the obession to drink, and gave me a design for living I sorely needed, then wanted, and now appreciate.
Let me know if you're ever up in the Buford/Cumming area. My home group is awesome!

I tried everything and anything that was suggested or came to mind with great effort and intensity. After all that time and effort was wasted I tried AA and it has continued to work well for me since '82.
Not surprisingly, the members that helped show me what to worked when new are all still sober or have now left this life sober. None have drank.
