Thursday Evening

Hi guys.

I've been too busy to post much lately. But one hurdle is behind me and I hope to keep forward motion. I have missed you guys.

I'm finishing up the school year (teacher--remember?) and while I don't have absolutely nothing to do over the summer, I will have a lot of free time. Sometimes that has gotten me into trouble. I get anxious when I'm not working hard--and I feel guilty. And I have some trouble spending time alone--which I will be doing this summer. So I'm trying to make a schedule of activities for myself.

But I'm in for the evening and so will probably get to bed sober. Tomorrow isn't crazy busy either--unusual day.

I hope all of you are dong well! More soon.

Probably get to bed sober? I hope you do.

I had an awesome night...was out at a meeting.
Hopefully, you can fill your spare time with activities that keep you busy...can you volunteer for kids sports or something fun for the summer?
An idol mind is a dangerous mind.
Wishing you peace and strength.

Good to hear from you, MI7. I'd wondered about ya earlier today.

You women and your feeling anxious when not working hard...sheesh. I've suggested my wife take it down a notch for her entire pregnancy, but she's still go, go, go. I've recently decided I'm not modeling leisure well enough and have resolved to redouble my efforts.

I'm making a plan! I'm going to go into work two mornings a week. I'm department chair and need to be present a bit. If I plan it right there's a women's meeting at noon MWF so maybe Wednesday I'll go to that. I'm thinking of learning to weave.

So much of my idle time has been spent drinking.

Hey, can someone direct me to an easy to access list of the twelve steps? I want to see what the plan looks like.

The AA pros here might have better links than this one. But, for this armchair AA'er here's a pretty good list w/hyperlinks for each step:

If you are thinking about your future and making plans, you are on the right path of recovery. It is really important to think about how to use your time. Plan, plan, plan is what my sponsor in AA frequently reminds me. As some of the old timers say, you are either moving towards a drink or moving away from one. When I make plans and add structure to my days, I am moving away....when I have planned nothing and find my mind idle, no surprise that my alcoholic mind suggests an activity.

Hey Missy--Was so glad to see your post last night! Hope you have a great day. Love to hear that you are making plans.

Are you hooked into the online knitting Ravalry.com world? I have FB friends who do friendly knitting competitions and charity projects together. I not not a good knitter (yet!) but I love seeing their results on FB.

Frances--I haven't gotten into Ravelry.com, but a friend looks at it. I will check it out.

I'm glad the week has ended.
